La CCIP présente à la deuxième édition du Standing International Forum of Commercial Courts (SIFoCC), à New York

La Cour commerciale internationale de Paris était présente au Forum du SIFoCC à New York, les 27 et 28 septembre 2018.

La deuxième édition du Standing International Forum of Commercial Courts (SIFoCC) s'est tenue à New York, les 27 et 28 septembre 2018, dans les locaux de l'United States Courthouse de New York. Étaient présents environ 90 représentants des juridictions (commerciales ou non) du monde entier (Afrique, Asie, Australie, Europe, Amérique du nord).

La cour d'appel de Paris était représentée par François Ancel, président de la Chambre commerciale internationale de Paris et Jean Messinesi, président du tribunal de commerce de Paris.

Ce Forum est un lieu d'échanges et un espace unique de dialogues entre juges venus de pays différents. Il a pour but principal de dégager les pratiques les meilleures pour le traitement judiciaire des litiges relevant du domaine du commerce international en s'appuyant sur les expériences menées par chaque juridiction selon leur système juridique (pays de Common Law et de Civil Law). Plusieurs tables rondes ont ainsi été organisées autour de différents thèmes et notamment celui de l'exécution des décisions de justice étrangères ("enforcement"), la mise en état des affaires ("case management"), les nouvelles technologies ("Technology in the courts"), le financement des procès par des tiers ("litigation funding by third parties") et l'arbitrage ("arbitration issues").

Le prochain Forum se tiendra à Singapour en 2019, au cours duquel l'accent sera particulièrement mis sur l'usage des nouvelles technologies dans le traitement des litiges commerciaux.

"The second edition of the Standing International Forum of Commercial Courts (SIFoCC) was held in New York on the 27th and 28th September 2018. 90 representatives of both commercial and civil jurisdictions from around the world gathered at the United States Courthouse. The Court of Appeal of Paris was represented by the president of the International Commercial Chamber of Paris, Francois Ancel, as well as by Jean Messinesi, president of the Paris Commercial court.

 

The SIFoCC is a unique forum for exchanges and dialogue between judges from different countries.The aim of the forum is to identify among various jurisdictions, both common and civil law, best practices in the resolution of international commercial disputes. Several topics such as the enforcement of foreign judgements, case management, technology in Courts,  litigation funding by third parties as well as arbitration issues were brought up during roundtables.

 

The next forum which will emphasise the use of  new technologies in dispute resolution will be hosted in Singapore in 2019".
